Benchmark Testing

Tomorrow we will be taking the ELA and Mathematics Benchmark Tests. These tests are completed on the computers in the computer lab. Please make sure your child gets enough sleep, eats a good breakfast, and is on time to school. Thank you!

McTeacher Night and Safety Day

Tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 17th is McTeacher Night. Come see the Collier Staff work at McDonalds while raising money for the Collier PTA.  5:30-8:00pm

Wednesday, November 18th is Safety Day.  We will be outside from 8:30-11:30, please dress for the weather.

Book Report #2

Today the students will be bringing home our Book Report #2 Assignment. It is due Friday, November 20th

Fall Break!

Fall Break is here!  I hope that as a family you get a chance to rest this break.  See you back here on Monday, October 19th!

Today I will be sending home a Fall Leave Activity as part of our Thoughts For Thursdays.  While you are on break look for Fall Leaves, any student who brings them back on Monday, October 19th will earn a prize!

Band

If your child is participating in Band. PLEASE, PLEASE have them practice at home. If they are not practicing their instrument they are getting behind.  At this point they should be able to put their instrument together, and be able to make noise with it.  Also, each student needs a book.

Paper

We are completely out of lined writing paper. If you are able to donate some I would appreciate it.

Picture Day and Movie Night

Thursday is Picture Day!  Class pictures and yearbook individual will be taken.
PTA Movie Night and Meeting is Friday. Doors open at 5:30, games and movie start at 6:00pm.

Book Report REMINDER!

Mrs. Osborne’s Class

Book Report #1

Due October 1, 2015

Students may choose any book that they are interested in reading.  The only guidelines are that the book is not a comic book and it must have at least 100 pages.

Report:

     Students will choose one of the following activities to complete and be ready to present them to the class on October 1.

 

Choice 1:

          Coat of Arms: Design a coat of arms to represent the main character or characters of the story. Decorate in detail the coat of arms with symbols that represent the character’s personality. On the back for the coat of arms, write a detailed paragraph for each symbol that gives your reasons for including each item. You should have one paragraph per item! The coat of arms should be on poster size poster board.

 

Choice 2:

          Story Sequel: Type a two page sequel to the story. Use the information you learned about the characters as you read the book.

 

Choice 3:   

          Scrapbook: Please create a 10 page scrapbook highlighting major events in the book that you read. One page should highlight the plot, one page for the characters, and one page for the setting. The rest of the pages are to be designed by you! Remember you want people to know as much information about the book as possible by making this scrapbook!

Conference Notes

Parent Teacher Conferences are September 16, 17, and 18.  If you were not at Open House and did not sign up, a note went home today for you to sign up.  Please send it back as soon as possible so that I can assign times to everyone. Thank you!
